Our Story & Impact

Maple Bridge Canada was founded by professionals with lived experience of migration, resettlement, and integration. Many of our team members are Afghan Canadians who once received support themselves and now give back by helping others navigate the complex journey of rebuilding their lives in Canada.

Our organization emerged in response to the 2021 crisis in Afghanistan, when Canada committed to resettling over 55,000 Afghan refugees—many of whom had supported the Canadian mission. These newcomers often arrive facing urgent challenges: limited legal status, interrupted education, language barriers, and a need for employment and community support. While our origins are Afghan-focused, our reach now extends to displaced individuals from across the globe, including those from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Ukraine, and other conflict-affected regions.

We focus on connecting skilled refugees and displaced persons with meaningful employment opportunities, offering personalized resettlement planning, and supporting long-term integration through language training, credential recognition, and cultural orientation.

Our work is driven by partnerships with employers, community organizations, and educational institutions to ensure newcomers receive the wraparound support they need to thrive. Through these efforts, we aim to empower newcomers to become resilient, engaged members of Canadian society, contributing to a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.

What We Do

Immigration Services
We assist individuals and families with a range of immigration pathways, including the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP), Family Class sponsorships, and Humanitarian and Compassionate applications. We also support displaced populations abroad—such as Afghan nationals—through both economic and humanitarian immigration streams, including EMPP.

Settlement and Legal Support in Canada
We help newcomers in Canada access settlement services and assistance with documents such as the Refugee Travel Document. Special attention is given to communities with urgent resettlement needs, including Afghan newcomers.

Employment Readiness and Training
Our employment programs equip newcomers with the skills needed to succeed in the Canadian labour market through job-readiness training and connections to meaningful employment opportunities.

Educational Assessment and Placement
We assess the education and skills of newcomers and connect them with schools, colleges, and universities for vocational, academic, or professional studies. We also support access to language services, school enrollment, and credential recognition.

Community and Skills Integration
We connect individuals with community organizations offering support in job search strategies, resume development, language learning, and skills training. We work collaboratively with employers, nonprofit partners, and IRCC to build strong support networks for all newcomers.

Additional Support Services
We offer certified translation services, health registration assistance, and cultural orientation. Through mentorship, career guidance, and skills development, we help empower individuals to thrive in their new communities.
